RAWALPINDI: Chief organiser and media coordinator of the Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society, Aziz Ahmed Awan, Thursday called for the nomination of Chief of Army Staff and Chief Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir for the Nobel Peace Prize, citing his efforts to promote global peace, reduce the risks of conflict, and encourage dialogue among nations.

Speaking to organisational office-bearers at a private hotel in Rawalpindi, he said that under the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pakistan’s global image has significantly improved, enabling the country to regain a respectable position on the international stage.

He noted that in the past, Pakistan faced numerous diplomatic challenges due to Indian propaganda. However, in recent years, effective policies and strategic initiatives have helped restore and highlight Pakistan’s identity at the global level.

Awan said the international community now increasingly views Pakistan as a country committed to peace, stability, and a constructive global role, while narratives critical of Pakistan are being rejected.

He added that under Field Marshal Asim Munir’s leadership, not only has the country’s defence been strengthened, but Pakistan has also achieved notable successes on the diplomatic front. According to him, the country is moving towards internal stability and a stronger economy, while emerging as a responsible and active member of the international community.

On the occasion, the Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society formally demanded that Field Marshal Asim Munir be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his contributions toward global peace, de-escalation of conflict, and promotion of dialogue. It said that the initiatives taken under his leadership are significant not only for Pakistan but also for international peace.
