Trapped miner rescued after 17 days from Mardan mine

TAKHTBHAI: A man who got trapped in the Rustam mine collapse was rescued after 17 days and shifted to Mardan Medical Complex (MMC) for treatment on Thursday.

The incident occurred on March 31 in Rustam where a mine accident left several miners trapped. After extensive rescue efforts, the missing person was finally rescued and transported to MMC.

The injured miner, identified as Wahab, aged around 24-25 and a resident of Mohmand tribal district, was in stable condition and out of

danger. The hospital staff were providing medical treatment and he was receiving free healthcare facilities.

Member Provincial Assembly Tufail Anjum, on the special directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, also visited the injured and instructed hospital authorities to provide the best medical care.

It may be mentioned that four injured persons from the Rustam mine incident were initially shifted to MMC and provided free treatment. One critically injured patient later succumbed to his injuries.
