PESHAWAR: Around 40 young people from Lakki Marwat have completed hands-on digital skills training, improving their employability, with many already securing jobs.
The trainees were referred by Lucky Cement to the Mohsin and Huma Mass IT (MHIT) Training Centre in Peshawar, a flagship initiative of Aziz Jan Trust in collaboration with Saylani Welfare Trust , which provides free IT education to youth across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“Lucky Cement’s administration, led by its chief Muhammad Ali Tabba, approached MHIT in October 2024 to train a batch of students,” said Aqleem Orakzai, administrator of the centre.A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed among the three organisations to equip young people from Lakki Marwat with practical IT skills for sustainable livelihoods. Organisers said the programme aims to create opportunities for youth from terrorism-affected areas by engaging them in productive activities and guiding them towards long-term growth.According to Aqleem, 17 students received training in graphic designing, and 13 of them secured jobs soon after completing the course.
Another group of 17 students is currently undergoing training in web development, with completion expected in July 2026. Six students, however, could not complete the programme due to various reasons.
