Man dies as car hits motorcycle

LAHORE:A man died while another was injured after a speeding car struck a motorcycle near Shaukat Khanum Hospital. According to officials, the victims, identified as Nauman Mumtaz and Hassan Ali, were travelling on a motorcycle when a fast-moving car hit them, leaving both critically injured.

The driver fled the scene immediately after the accident. Rescue teams reached the site and shifted the injured men to hospital, where Nauman Mumtaz died. Hassan Ali remained under treatment. Rescue officials said the accident appeared to have occurred due to reckless and over-speeding driving. Police later traced the suspects using CCTV footage and arrested two individuals, identified as Ali Akbar and Ahmed. 

A case was registered.

Meanwhile, three people died in separate incidents in the Lower Mall area, with police shifting the bodies to the morgue. According to an Edhi Foundation spokesperson, in the first incident, a 35-yearold man, a resident of Sabzazar, had come to visit his in-laws late at night when he suffered an epileptic seizure in the washroom, which proved fatal. Police handed over the body to the family. In separate incidents, two unidentified men were found dead near Mian Munshi graveyard in the same area. Police said both individuals appeared to be drug addicts, though the exact cause of death would be determined after further investigation. The bodies were shifted to the morgue via Edhi ambulances.

Violence suspect held

Police have arrested a man accused of assaulting his sister-in-law following a domestic dispute in the Racecourse area.The suspect, identified as Karamat, allegedly subjected the woman to violence in the absence of her husband.The incident reportedly stemmed from a domestic disagreement between the two.
