The District Central police have claimed solving a blind murder case within 48 hours, arresting four suspects, including two women, in connection with the killing of a young man outside a mosque in Khawaja Ajmer Nagri.

According to Central SSP Dr Muhammad Imran Khan, the incident occurred two days ago on Friday when the victim was shot dead near a mosque during early morning hours. A case was registered at the Khawaja Ajmer Nagri police station. Taking notice of the incident, a special investigation team was formed, which used modern technology and CCTV footage to trace and arrest the suspects. Police said initial impressions of robbery or target killing were proved wrong, as the investigation revealed that the victim’s wife, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, and a friend of the wife were involved in the murder.

Officials disclosed that the murder was premeditated with the plan allegedly devised at a real estate agency. The main accused, Shezan, was tasked with carrying out the killing. He reportedly stole a 9mm pistol, while an accomplice, Jibran, provided bullets and a mask.

The victim’s wife allegedly shared his daily routine, and he was targeted while heading to the mosque for Fajr prayers. CCTV footage showed the suspects calmly reaching and leaving the scene.

Police said the motive behind the murder was to eliminate the husband so the wife could marry her friend, a claim also supported by her statement during interrogation. Authorities confirmed that the main accused and facilitators had been arrested, and the murder weapon recovered. Further investigations and legal proceedings are under way.
