PESHAWAR: A five-day training workshop on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare and research concluded at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI), Swabi.
Raham Yousufzai, a spokesperson for the institute, said that it was a first-of-its-kind workshop in which more than 50 participants took part, including executives from Gajju Khan Medical College (GKMC), administrative officers, IT professionals, consultants and postgraduate and undergraduate trainees.
The programme followed a modular format, providing participants with hands-on experience in the application of AI in the medical field, including imaging, diagnostics, and software development.
The closing ceremony was held at GIKI where all the participants were awarded course completion certificates.Addressing the ceremony, dean/CEO GKMC, Prof Dr Shams-Ur-Rehman, Hospital Director BKMC-MTI, Dr Khalid Masud and other consultants appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between GKMC and GIKI.
On this occasion, Dean/CEO Prof Dr Shams-Ur-Rehman and Rector GIKI, Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid (Sitara-Imtiaz), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strong and sustainable partnership.
