NANKANA SAHIB: Sheikhupura Regional Police Officer Athar Ismail visited Nankana Sahib district and inaugurated the newly-constructed building of DPO Office.
He also visited different sections of the office. Later, talking to newsmen at Conference Hall, RPO Athar Ismail said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and IGP Dr Usman Anwar, improvement was being made in the police system. He said that better sitting arrangements for complainants had been made in all police stations. He said that educated and professional staffers had been appointed at the front desks in all police stations for hearing complaints of the masses. He said that several services of police stations had been shifted to Police Khidmat Markaz for the convenience of the people. He said that these steps were bringing positive changes in the police culture.
To a question, he said that the police would now have to adopt scientific and other professional ways in investigation of cases by leaving aside the traditional and old ways of investigation. He said that open courts were being held to provide justice and relief to the public at their doorsteps.
Later, a rank pinning ceremony was held at DPO Office.
The RPO and DPO pinned ranks to two officials Asif Iqbal Bhatti and Kamran Shahzad, who were promoted from sub-inspectors to inspectors. RPO Athar Ismail also inaugurated the newly-constructed police licencing branch in Nankana Sahib. He also visited Shahkot police station and checked the record. He signed two MOUs with two institutions for the welfare of police personnel. Later, he inaugurated the newly-constructed building of Shahkot Sadr police station and held an open court there.
