MINGORA: The University of Agriculture Swat held an orientation session for newly-admitted students, which was attended by a large number of students and their parents.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Daud Jan was the chief guest at the ceremony. The university welcomed the new students and briefed them on its departments, faculty, laboratories, and other facilities.
Prof Dr. Jamal Khan, Prof Dr Noorul Amin, Prof Dr Farmanullah, Advisor Akbar Khan, Deputy Registrar Dr Abrarul Haq, faculty members and administrative officers were present.Prof Dr Jamal Khan, Prof Dr Noorul Amin, Dr Mian Ahmad Raza, Dr Misbahullah, and other faculty members introduced their respective departments to the students. Prof Dr Farmanullah served as stage secretary. Advisor Akbar Khan also gave a detailed briefing on the various scholarships offered by the university.
VC Daud Jan welcomed the students and said that the day marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, one they would remember for a long time. He highlighted the importance of agricultural education, noting that unemployment among agriculture graduates was significantly lower compared to other fields.
He said that graduates of the university were pursuing higher education abroad on scholarships, working in various sectors across the country, and many had even established their own businesses.He added that the university had recently established its Alumni Association to strengthen ties between graduates and the institution.
