He has earned appreciation from literary circles for his earlier seven books written on different topics.A former senior police officer Dr Syed Akhtar Ali Shah pointed out that it needed courage, confidence and vast knowledge to write down such a book that involved history, society and perspective reflecting a near to real background of the perpetual interplays of war in the region.

“Shams’s perspective of endless war in the region highlights several layers of the issue drenched in big power wielders’ vested interests in the entire region as he has captured the true sense of the people characterised by their hospitality, peace and love of land,” he said.

Prof Dr Fakhrul Islam, noted research scholar said though young people were drifting away from reading culture, yet the book by Shams Momand would attract them to read it to widen their scope of understanding of the regional conflicts. Abdul Qayum, Kalsoomzeb and Rokhan Yousafzai also spoke at the function.
