PPP’s 58th foundation day marked

CHITRAL: The 58th foundation day of the Pakistan People’s Party was celebrated here on Sunday where participants reaffirmed their commitment to making Chitral once again a stronghold of the PPP.

PPP senior leaders, including district president Saleem Khan, Alam Zeb advocate, Qazi Faisal, Shah Murad Baig, Nizar Wali Shah, Khalid Pervez, Haji Ghazi Wardak, Muhammad Afzal, Abdus Samad Shah, Shabnam Nasir and others addressed the gathering.

The speakers said that the people of Chitral had deep affection for the party’s founder, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who visited the region eight times during his five-year tenure.They said that the PPP gave a voice to the poor and introduced them to the concept of true freedom.

They added that the development history of Chitral was essentially the development history of the PPP, which initiated work on the Lowari Tunnel, established hydropower stations and colleges, expanded road networks into remote areas, and for the first time introduced ration card-based food distribution.

They said that the people of Chitral in general, and PPP workers in particular, had always had a special bond with Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.Speakers emphasised unity and cohesion within the party, saying that loyalty to the party must be maintained under all circumstances. A cake-cutting ceremony was also held in connection with the foundation day.
