ISLAMABAD: The Cabinet Division has announced plans to assess the value of new gifts received at the Toshakhana and has invited bids from private evaluators via e-PADs by August 29.

The bids will be opened the same day.

According to the Cabinet Division, appraisals will cover various categories of gifts, including jewellery, watches, and carpets. The government will enter into a one-year contract with the successful evaluators, who will be paid for each appraisal conducted.

Under existing rules, gifts in the state-owned Toshakhana are available for purchase only by political officials, civil and military bureaucracy, and judges of the higher judiciary.

Any unpurchased gifts are later auctioned to the public.
