Violence against women is increasing in society with each passing day. Women are subjected to various forms of abuse, including not only physical violence but also psychological and emotional torture. It is deeply concerning that the rate of such violence continues to rise. In some cases, women are victims of rape, while in others, acid is thrown on their faces, permanently destroying their lives and dignity.
Whether at home or in public, women often find themselves unsafe. Although the government has enacted numerous laws aimed at protecting women and has prescribed punishments for offenders, violence against women continues to persist.
One of the major reasons for this failure appears to be the weak implementation of these laws, which emboldens those who commit such crimes. The government must ensure the strict enforcement of laws designed to safeguard women. A society can only achieve true progress and development when its women are safe, respected and empowered.
