TANK: Seven members of a family, including men, women and children, were injured when a vehicle met with an accident while travelling from Tank to the Kaniguram valley in Upper South Waziristan district.
According to Ladha Assistant Commissioner Saadullah Khan, the accident occurred at Karwan Manza in Upper South Waziristan where local residents rushed to the site upon receiving information about the mishap and immediately launched rescue work.
The victims were later shifted to CHC Lower Kaniguram Salahuddin Kot and Ladha Hospital for further medical treatment. Subsequently, the injured were referred to the District Headquarters Hospital in Wana for further medical care.
The family belonged to retired schoolteacher Jahangir Burki, and was travelling from Tank to Kaniguram to spend the summer holidays when the mishap occurred.The cause of the accident could not be ascertained immediately.
