Arora, US diplomat discuss education, minority welfare projects

LAHORE:Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora held an important meeting with US Consul General in Lahore, Stetson Sanders.

Both sides held detailed discussions on ongoing cooperation between the Punjab government and the US Consulate, particularly focusing on minority welfare projects, education, and social development programmes. They appreciated the ongoing development and rehabilitation initiatives for minority communities.

The E-Learning Programme for minority students was highlighted as an effective and forward-looking educational initiative during the meeting.It was agreed to further promote religious tourism and expand student exchange programmes to create greater international opportunities for youth.

The US Consulate reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting various social and educational initiatives.During the meeting, the minister briefed the US Consul General on the Punjab government’s key initiatives in the areas of minority rights protection, religious freedom, social inclusion, and interfaith harmony.

The meeting concluded with a mutual resolve to further strengthen bilateral relations and people-to-people contacts while acknowledging Punjab government’s initiatives in the field of minority affairs as exemplary.
