KARACHI: Geo Films and Filmwala Pictures’ upcoming Eid-ul-Azha release “Zombied” will prominently showcase Pakistani culture and local colors, according to the lead actors of the film. Speaking exclusively to Geo Digital, renowned actor Fahad Mustafa saaid that “Zombied” is not just a horror-adventure film but also a representation of Pakistan, featuring Sindhi, Punjabi, and Pashtun-style zombies.
He added that Karachi is a “Mini Pakistan,” and the film reflects the city’s diverse cultural shades. Fahad Mustafa further stated that actress Mehwish Hayat’s character will make the film stand out from others. He said that seriousness is essential for a film to remain impactful, adding that if audiences do not feel fear while watching the zombies, the purpose of the story would be lost. According to him, “Zombied” is not merely a comedy film, as it also contains suspense and intensity.
Meanwhile, Mehwish Hayat said that the movie features “desi-style” zombies that are faster than Western zombies and immediately react to sound. She added that zombies dressed in shalwar kameez, along with various elements of Pakistani culture, will be prominently highlighted in the film and will entertain cinema-goers.
The film is produced and written by Fizza Ali Mirza and directed by Nabeel Qureshi. It is worth mentioning that Geo Films has previously presented successful films including Khuda Kay Liye, Bol, Teefa in Trouble, The Legend of Maula Jatt, Donkey King, and The Glassworker.
