LAHORE : Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert regarding thunderstorms and rains across the province. According to a PDMA spokesperson, there is a possibility of rain and strong winds in most districts of Punjab from May 19 to 23. Rain has also been predicted in various cities including Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal and Faisalabad.
PDMA DG Omar Javed said that in view of the possible weather situation, an alert has been issued to the commissioners and deputy commissioners across the province so that advance arrangements can be made to deal with any emergency. The DG PDMA has directed citizens to stay in safe places to protect themselves from lightning and avoid going to open places during thunderstorms.—APP
He also advised farmers to take advance measures for their crops and agricultural activities keeping in mind the weather situation, while tourists have been directed to take precautionary measures while traveling to the northern areas.
