LAHORE : Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has said that the Punjab government’s flagship housing initiative ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ has emerged as a major attraction for international visitors at the Baku exhibition, where its dedicated pavilion is drawing significant interest.

She stated that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has recently showcased this landmark housing project on a global platform in Baku, presenting it as a unique model for the world.

Azma Bokhari said ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ programme is the largest and most distinctive housing initiative of its kind globally. Under the scheme, 100,000 homes have already been completed, while construction work on 60,000 additional homes is progressing at a fast pace. She added that the CM has set a target of providing homes to 500,000 families within five years, and implementation is moving forward rapidly.

The minister remarked that development projects in Punjab are not confined to paperwork but are clearly visible on the ground, which is why the world is increasingly acknowledging that real progress is being made in the province. She also said that those unable to match Maryam Nawaz’s performance are resorting to baseless criticism, while the public can clearly see the difference in actual delivery and development.
