British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has sent a special congratulatory letter to British-Pakistani education entrepreneur Dr Muhammad Zohaib Tariq after the UK awarding organisation Learning Resource Network (LRN), regulated by Ofqual, received the King’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade 2026.

In his letter Starmer described the achievement as an important contribution to the UK economy, international trade and the education sector, saying that the prestigious honour symbolises the organisation’s outstanding services, ambition and global credibility.

With the latest recognition, the LRN has become one of the few British organisations to receive consecutive royal honours. In 2020 the organisation had won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.

The LRN is headed by Dr Tariq, and operates in 58 countries. Since its establishment the organisation has provided British-standard qualifications and educational opportunities to more than 1.2 million candidates through its international network spanning Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Approved by Pakistan’s Inter Boards Coordination Commission, the LRN offers a range of programmes in Pakistan, including International GCSE, AS and A level, pre-A level foundation studies, early years practitioner and teacher training qualifications.
