At least 11 people, including women, were injured after a speeding passenger coaster went out of control and overturned in Shershah on Sunday.
According to Edhi officials, the injured were shifted to a hospital nearby. Seven injured persons were initially transported to the hospital, while more victims were brought in later, raising the total number of injured to 11.
The injured included five women and six men, all of whom are said to be out of danger. Police officials stated the passengers were returning to Lyari after attending a wedding ceremony in Baldia Town when the driver lost control of the speeding coaster causing the vehicle to overturn.
Rescue officials identified some of the injured men as 60-year-old Suleman, 38-year-old Kamran, 20-year-old Bilal and 17-year-old Ghulam Qadir. The injured women included 65-year-old Fareeda, 65-year-old Ayesha and 50-year-old Zarina. Police said the overturned coaster was later removed from the road with the help of a crane, after which traffic flow in the area was restored.
