The administration of the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari (BBSUL) has directed a former senior clerk to return all salaries received since 2018, warning that failure to comply could result in the matter being referred to the Anti-Corruption Establishment and the Federal Investigation Agency.

According to the letter issued by the BBSUL’s registrar office, Tanveer Ahmed Soomro has been ordered to return Rs4,404,961 received in salaries from January 1, 2018, following the decision of a disciplinary committee on the grounds of absence from duty.

The letter states that the university’s finance department has prepared details of the financial liabilities, and directed the former employee to deposit the amount within one week. The BBSUL also warned that in case of non-compliance within the stipulated period, legal proceedings could be initiated.
