LAHORE:Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Bilal Yasin met DG Sikandar Zeeshan to review preparations for the World Urban Forum and ongoing housing projects.
The minister was briefed on Punjab’s participation in the forum to be held in Azerbaijan later this month, along with scheduled meetings with investors and international organisations.He said the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” programme is a flagship welfare initiative for low-income groups and remains a key priority amid rising urban population pressures.
Meanwhile, LDA DG Tahir Farooq visited three under-construction projects of the provincial capital, including Data Darbar, Bhati Chowk Underpass, Nasir Bagh and Nila Gumbad projects to review the progress and quality of work.
During briefing, Chief Engineer Tepa Iqrar Hussain and Project Director told that work on Nila Gumbad and Nasir Bagh Underground Parking Plaza projects was progressing rapidly. Work was underway simultaneously on all three basements of Nila Gumbad project while the pace of work has also accelerated on Nasir Bagh Underground Parking Plaza.
LDA DG directed the contractor of Bhati Chowk underpass to speed up the pace of work. He also reviewed the ongoing work on the pedestrian underpass, toilet block, pedestrian zone and directed strict monitoring of the progress of work on the three projects. He directed NESPAK to submit regular monitoring reports on the quality of work.
