Depts ordered to enhance preparations for monsoon

LAHORE:Parliamentary Secretary for Housing Punjab Sultan Tariq Bajwa has instructed all departments concerned to enhance preparations for the upcoming monsoon season to avoid inconvenience to citizens. He directed the horticulture agencies to further intensify plantation campaigns, stating that environmental improvement remains one of the government’s top priorities.

Parliamentary Secretary for Housing Punjab issued these directions while chairing an important meeting on Tuesday.Representatives of Development Authorities, Wasa, PHA and other relevant departments attended the meeting. During the session, progress on various development initiatives, including the ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’, ‘Apni Zameen Apna Ghar’, Affordable Housing Programmes, ‘Green Punjab Vision’ initiatives and installation of water filtration plants under Clean Water Programme was reviewed in detail.

Parliamentary Secretary Housing said that unprecedented welfare and development programmes have been introduced for the public and the number of beneficiary families is increasing day by day. He directed Wasa authorities to further accelerate field operations and ensure the prompt solution of public complaints.

He instructed development authorities to ensure strict implementation of master plans and continue indiscriminate action against illegal constructions.Bajwa directed the authorities to ensure uninterrupted provision of clean drinking water to citizens in order to promote a healthy environment.
