LAHORE:Lahore Police have traced a burglary case worth more than Rs40 million in a short span of time in the Nawab Town area, according to an official press release.

Police said the domestic worker of the house turned out to be the mastermind behind the incident. Nawab Town police, using modern technology, arrested three suspects involved in the crime.

According to details, on May 7, a house owner woman left her house in a housing scheme and went to her parents’ home. During this period, the housemaid, identified as Aamna alias Seerat, allegedly plotted the burglary.

The suspect, along with her sister Jannat and brother Ali Hassan, allegedly carried out the theft. When the homeowner returned on May 10, she found 80 tolas of gold jewellery and Rs300,000 in cash missing. Upon receiving a call on the police helpline, officials reached the scene and collected evidence.

Police registered a case, examined CCTV footage and questioned all household employees with the help of modern technology. During interrogation, Aamna reportedly failed to provide satisfactory answers and her statements were found inconsistent. During the course of investigation, the suspect confessed to committing the crime along with her siblings. On her identification, the stolen gold jewellery and cash were recovered from Al-Kabir Town. The DIG Operations handed over the recovered valuables to the complainant. The complainant expressed gratitude to Lahore Police. DIG Operations Faisal Kamran appreciated the performance of the SHO Nawab Town and his team and awarded them commendation certificates.

Meanwhile, Police claimed to have solved a house robbery case in the Shalimar area, arresting the alleged mastermind — the complainant’s nephew — along with two accomplices. The armed suspects had entered a house at gunpoint in the Shalimar neighbourhood, held the family hostage and looted gold ornaments and cash before fleeing.

Following the incident, police collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and traced the suspects with the help of PSCA cameras and other local CCTV footage. The accused — identified as Zargam, Haider and Ammar — were arrested from the Gulberg area. Police said the looted gold, cash, a pistol and the motorcycle used in the robbery were recovered from the suspects, while a case was also registered against them.
