‘Focus on curbing crime against women’

LAHORE:Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana has said that Lahore Police was steadfastly pursuing a policy aimed at the complete eradication of crimes against womenin the society.

He expressed these views while chairing a meeting at his office to review progress on under-investigation cases. The protection of women, children and other vulnerable segments of society remains a top priority of Lahore Police, he said, directing the officials to ensure the timely registration of cases against individuals involved in crimes against women. He stressed that all investigations must be conducted strictly on merit, with transparency and expeditiousness.

Kamyana said that providing timely relief to citizens seeking justice was an important responsibility of police. He stressed the need for further improving coordination with the Prosecution Department to ensure that offenders were brought to justice and awarded exemplary punishment.
