LAHORE:The Punjab government has announced major relaxations to various sectors in the energy conservation policy.Under the new decision, gyms, IT companies and international call centres have been exempted from the closure hours.
According to the notification, the Punjab chief secretary has lifted restrictions imposed on gyms and IT sector from May 4, after which these institutions will be able to continue their working hours as usual.
Under the government decision, IT companies and call centres working with international clients have been allowed to work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so that there is no disruption to global business activities.
Furthermore, by amending the closure notification issued on April 5, gyms and sports facilities have also been exempted, which will facilitate citizens in exercising and health activities.
The government has issued instructions to all deputy commissioners and commissioners to ensure immediate implementation of the new orders. According to officials, the aim of this measure was to support the economy and provide convenience to citizens, while also maintaining efficient use of energy.
