11 uplift schemes worth Rs22bn approved

LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party, here Tuesday, approved 11 development schemes at the estimated cost of Rs22 billion.

Presided over by Planning and Development (P&D) Board Chairman Dr Naeem Rauf, the forum approved the development schemes, including Rehabilitation/ Improvement of metalled Road from Pakpattan to Marlay Chowk via Purana Thana, District Pakpattan (revised) at the cost of Rs2.33 billion,construction of building of Cancer Centre at Nishtar Hospital, Multan (revised) at the cost of Rs1.02billion. 

It also approved the establishment of Fatima Jinnah Institute of Dental Sciences, Jubilee Town, Lahore (revised) at the cost of Rs4.46 billion,provision of two MRIMachines in Tertiary Care Hospitals in Punjab (Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital, Gujrat & Mayo Hospital, Lahore) at the cost of Rs1.07billion, purchase of twocardiac MRI Machines for FIC Faisalabad and CPEIC Multan at the cost of Rs1.138 billion,up-gradation of Pathology Dept at Children’s Hospital, Lahore at the cost of Rs1.27 billion. 

Besides, it also approved construction of Monument and Museum at National Bank Park at the cost of Rs4.245 billion,re-construction of Old P&D Building, Lahore (revised) at the cost of Rs6.471 billion,establishment of Enforcement Stations of PERA in Punjab (New construction / rehabilitation of existing government buildings).
