LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan has called Pakistan’s success in Operation ‘Bunyan-um-Marsoos’ as a historic milestone, stating that the operation not only crushed the adversary’s arrogance but also demonstrated unprecedented national unity and cohesion.
Addressing a press conference on the PA premises here Tuesday, he announced that a special session of the Punjab Assembly will be convened to pay tribute to this achievement, during which a unanimous resolution will also be adopted.
The speaker stated that India, using the Pahalgam incident as a pretext, leveled allegations against Pakistan without presenting any credible evidence and attempted to escalate tensions in the region. However, Pakistan, through a measured and responsible approach, effectively projected its position on the diplomatic front and presented the truth before the international community. He emphasised that Pakistan consistently offered transparent investigations and impartial mediation, reflecting its commitment as a responsible and peace-loving state.
He remarked that in times of conflict, truth is often the first casualty; however, the Pakistani media demonstrated professional integrity by conveying facts accurately to both the public and the global audience. He reiterated that while Pakistan possesses full defensive capability and the capacity to respond decisively to any aggression, its foremost priority remains the establishment of sustainable peace and stability in the region.
Paying tribute to the national leadership, he commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the military leadership, particularly Field Marshall CDF General Asim Munir, for their strategic acumen.
He noted that under their leadership, Pakistan not only ensured national security but also elevated its standing at the global level.Speaker highlighted that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is actively pursuing a comprehensive agenda of social and developmental reforms across the province.
