Sindh Minister for Labour, Human Resources and Social Protection Saeed Ghani, who is also the Karachi president of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has announced that the party would commemorate the first anniversary of Maarka-e-Haq on May 9 with great enthusiasm and fervour.
A large-scale event would be held at the Nishan-e-Pakistan Park at Sea View on May 9. The ceremony is expected to be attended by the Sindh chief minister, provincial ministers and prominent figures from various walks of life.
Ghani made the announcement while presiding over a meeting of the Karachi PPP Karachi on Friday. The meeting was attended by Karachi Division PPP General Secretary Rauf Ahmed Nagori, President of the Karachi PPP Women’s Wing Dr Shahida Rehmani and district presidents, general secretaries, information secretaries and other party officials.
The participants discussed in detail the arrangements for organising the grand event at Sea View under the banner of Maarka-e-Haq. Ghani stated that the PPP was preparing a major gathering on May 9, which would feature renowned Pakistani singers, performers and individuals from diverse sectors.
He said that across the city, the Karachi PPP would display national flags, install panaflex banners and set up stalls to pay tribute to the outstanding performance of Pakistan’s armed forces against India.
According to Ghani, from May 7 onwards, reception camps would be set up along major roads and in districts across the city under the party’s organisational structure.
He added that the main event would take place on the evening of May 9 and was expected to draw a large public turnout. The ceremony would conclude with a spectacular fireworks display.
