Police on Tuesday arrested a man accused of allegedly murdering his wife in the Surjani Town area. According to the police, the incident occurred on June 12 in Sector 11-D of Surjani Town, where 22-year-old Misbah, daughter of Abu Bakar, was allegedly shot dead inside her parents’ home in the presence of her brothers.
A murder case was registered at the Surjani Town police station on the complaint of the victim’s father, Abu Bakar. The FIR nominated the deceased woman’s husband, Salman, along with four unidentified accomplices.
Surjani Town investigation police arrested the prime suspect, Salman, son of Manzoor Ahmed, who had been named in the case. The police said the accused was being interrogated and further investigation was under way.
The victim’s family had alleged that Salman had links with criminal gangs operating in the katcha areas. The police said these allegations would also be examined during the course of the investigation.
