Justice Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi took oath as the acting chief justice of the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan (FCC) at the FCC Branch Registry in Karachi on Tuesday.

FCC Justice Mohammad Karim Khan Agha administered oath to Justice Rizvi in a simple ceremony that was attended by judges, law officers and officials of the court. Justice Rizvi was appointed as the acting chief justice of FCC during the absence of FCC Chief Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan who is currently on an official visit to Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation, for attending an international legal conference aimed at promoting judicial cooperation, exchange of legal expertise and dialogue on contemporary constitutional and legal issues. Justice Rizvi will discharge the responsibilities of the office of the FCC chief justice during the absence of Justice Khan.
