LAHORE: City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) arrested four young men for reckless driving, creating public nuisance and blocking a major artery.
Officials said they were riding in four luxury cars. On receiving information, CTO Lahore Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi ordered action. Acting on the directives, DSP Circle Ichhra and Traffic Sector Incharge, along with their team, set up a blockade and intercepted the vehicles.
During the operation, four suspects — identified as Ali Hassan, Nazim Ali, Wali Muhammad and Asif Javed, all stated to be students of a local college — were taken into custody along with their vehicles. They were handed over to Ichhra police station, where a case was registered against them.
Meanwhile, police arrested four suspects involved in a violent clash that left a man injured.The incident took place in the Taj Bagh area, where two groups allegedly engaged in a fight and opened fire at each other. Acting on a call made to the emergency helpline, SHO Ghaziabad M Shehryar, under the directions of SP Cantt Akhtar Nawaz, responded and arrested four suspects. The arrested individuals were identified as Owais, Qasim, Dawar and Amir. Police also recovered weapons from their possession.
During the altercation, a citizen identified as Waqar sustained injuries after being struck on the head with the butt of a pistol. He was shifted to hospital.Police have registered a case against the arrested suspects, along with five to six unidentified accomplices.
