Lesco leads Discos with 2,053MW net metering capacity

LAHORE:Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has emerged as the top-performing Disco across the country in the net metering sector, achieving a total capacity of 2,053 megawatts in its region as of May 2026.

This milestone has been made possible through 135,837 active net metering connections that Lesco has successfully commissioned across its service area.To streamline pending cases and improve efficiency, Lesco has migrated 1,204 net metering applications received before 9 February to the PITC portal. The processing of these pending applications is being made more effective and transparent to ensure timely resolution for consumers. For applications received after 9 February, Lesco is continuing processing through the dedicated Net Billing Portal. In line with Nepra Consumer Regulations 2026, consumers who increase their net metering capacity after 09 February will be shifted to net billing. Processing of net billing applications is currently under way under the new regulatory framework. Lesco management has reiterated that safeguarding consumer interests and ensuring timely provision of facilities remain the organisation’s top priorities. Lesco's CEO stated that the utility is fully committed to facilitating consumers at every step. Engineer Ramzan Butt added that the Company is leveraging a modern digital system to make the entire net metering and net billing process more transparent, efficient, and user-friendly.
