Fraud case resolved; main suspect held

LAHORE:Investigation Police claimed to have resolved a major fraud case involving over Rs113 million allegedly embezzled from a businessman in the Mochi Gate area, recovering the entire amount from the accused.

A joint team led by SP Investigation City, along with the Investigation Wing of Mochi Gate and Rang Mahal police stations, conducted the operation which resulted in the arrest of the main suspect.

Police said the accused, who was serving as a manager at a private bank, allegedly defrauded businessman Fahad Ilyas through a series of financial transactions and forged arrangements. Officials stated that the suspect obtained Rs45 million in cash and additional cheques worth Rs68.5 million, bringing the total to over Rs113 million. Investigators confirmed that the recovered cash and cheques were returned to the complainant.
