Islamabad: The Anti-Human Trafficking Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Islamabad has registered a case against individuals allegedly involved in human smuggling and visa fraud, officials said on Thursday.

According to details, the suspects identified as Asad Imtiaz and Mahad Ashraf are accused of acting in collusion to defraud a citizen, Abdullah Khan, of approximately Rs550,000. The victim was allegedly lured with the promise of securing a work visa for Azerbaijan.

However, the suspects neither fulfilled their commitment nor returned the amount. Instead, they reportedly deceived the victim by providing an education visa in place of the promised work visa.

Following preliminary investigations, the FIA registered a case against the accused under Sections 18 and 22 of the Emigration Ordinance 1979, along with Sections 420 (cheating) and 109 (abetment) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
