Two held for leaving newborn’s body at hospital

LAHORE: Police arrested two suspects, including a woman, for allegedly abandoning a newborn at a hospital in the Naseerabad area on Tuesday.

According to SP Model Town Asad Ali, police traced the suspects through CCTV footage after the newborn, reportedly dead, was left at the emergency department of Children’s Hospital. Acting under the supervision of SDPO Garden Town, the team carried out the arrests. The accused, Amina Bibi and Allah Wasaya, belong to Rahimyar Khan and were working in an area behind Hafeez Centre in Lahore.

Two arrested in gang rape case

Kahna police have arrested two men for allegedly gang-raping a 12-yearold boy. The victim identified as Hassnain was taken to Mohlanwal locality before being forced into the fields where the assault took place, according to police.

The suspects allegedly abandoned the boy near his home after the incident and fled. The child later reported the ordeal to his family, leading to the registration of a case at Kahna police station. Acting on human intelligence, Kahna police arrested two accused identified as Adnan and Imran. A case was registered against them.

Two women found dead

Two women were found dead in separate incidents in different parts of the city. A woman, about 30, was found unconscious in Karim Park, Shafiqabad, and later died in hospital. In another case, the body of an unidentified woman, around 50, was recovered from BRB Canal in Barki. Officials said the body was several days old. Police shifted the bodies to the morgue.
