The Karachi police killed two suspects and arrested five, including three in an injured condition, in alleged encounters on Friday.
Shahra-e-Noor Jahan police killed a robber in an alleged encounter near Abdullah College, North Nazimabad, while his accomplice managed to escape. The body of the slain robber was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. A pistol with bullets, a mobile phone, cash and a motorcycle were recovered from the slain robber. Efforts are being made to identify the slain suspect.
In a separate case, Rizivia police killed a robber in an alleged encounter on the banks of the Jahangirabad river in Nazimabad, while his accomplice escaped. The slain suspect has been identified as Muhammad Rashid alias Rashid, son of Qadir Khan.
According to the police, the suspect was a habitual criminal and had been involved in several incidents of street crime and motorcycle snatching. Several cases have been registered against the accused in various police stations, including serious cases related to dacoity, arms act and theft.
The accused was an operative of the “Mannu Gang”, a street criminal group consisting of four people. A pistol and a motorcycle were recovered from the accused. Meanwhile, New Karachi Police arrested two robbers, including one in an injured condition, in an alleged shootout near Sector XI-D Shams Tabrez Ground. The injured robber was identified as Al-Omeen son of Abdul Sattar, while his accomplice was identified as Abdul Malik, son of Muhammad Musa. A pistol with bullets, mobile phone, cash and a motorcycle were recovered from the arrested suspects.
In yet another case, Shahah-e-Noor Jahan police arrested two suspects, including an injured suspect, in an encounter near Tanki Ground, Block T-Inner Road, while his third accomplice escaped. The injured suspect was identified as Ismail Jamali, son of Muharram Jamali, while his accomplice was identified as Fahad Ahmed alias Mota, son of Zaheer Ahmed. A motorcycle, pistol, a mobile phone and a wallet were recovered from the possession of the accused.
Malir City police arrested one accused in an injured condition in an encounter while his accomplice escaped. The arrested suspect was identified as Ali Ahmed. The police recovered a motorcycle, two pistols with ammunition, bullets, a master key, a wallet and cash from the crime scene. The police are conducting raids to arrest the absconding man.
