In a surprise inspection of Karachi’s ongoing development projects, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Sunday personally reviewed progress on key infrastructure initiatives aimed at easing the city’s chronic traffic problems.

The CM was accompanied by provincial ministers Sharjeel Inam Memon, Nasir Hussain Shah and Mukesh Kumar Chawla as well as Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab . During the visit, significant progress on the Azeempura Flyover was highlighted. According to briefings, the 700-metre flyover, which includes a four-lane road, has reached 45 per cent completion within just 27 days. The project is being built for Rs 1,562 million.

Officials informed the CM that pile work had been fully completed, while 95 per cent of the girders had been installed. The construction of walls and ramps was 60 per cent complete, and the flyover’s width would span 17.2 metres.

Once completed, the Azeempura Flyover was expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion at a major city intersection. The project’s target completion date was June 15 and the CM has set a one-month deadline to accelerate progress, emphasising that the city’s residents would benefit from a modern travel facility upon the project completion.

Following the flyover inspection, the CM proceeded to Shahrah-e-Bhutto to review ongoing development work. The CM described the project as vital for the citizens of Karachi and instructed authorities to maintain speed and quality of work, leaving no room for delays or compromise.
