LAHORE : Pakistan People’s Party Lahore Urban Division President Faisal Mir has said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto made Pakistan invincible by laying the foundation of the nuclear programme and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto gave a new strength to defence system through missile technology; therefore, national monuments are indispensable in recognition of their historical services.
He stated this while talking to the media on the occasion of visiting Minar-i-Pakistan with a PPP delegation on the occasion of Pakistan Day.
The delegation included Majeed Ghauri, Mian Shahid Abbas, Khurram Farooq, Afraz Naqvi, Hassan Abbas, Tahira Habib Jalib, Javed Ilyas Butt, Asjad Malik, Rana Buland, Yasir Jalib, Atif Khokhar and others.
On the occasion of Pakistan Day, the delegation laid flowers at Minar-i-Pakistan and prayed for the martyrs.
It unanimously passed a resolution to construct memorials of Shaheed Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto near Minar-i-Pakistan and demanded the government immediately announce the construction of memorials.
While talking to the media, Faisal Mir said that national memorials of Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto should be established on the right and left sides of Minar-i-Pakistan.
He clarified that Pakistan is a strong and dignified state today thanks to the nuclear and missile programmes.
