LAHORE:The Bonded Labour Liberation Front Pakistan (BLLF) has demanded the exhumation of the grave of Murkas Maseeh, a Christian bonded labourer allegedly murdered at an agricultural farm in Chak 36, District Sargodha, and called for an autopsy to be conducted by a high-level medical board.

The demand was made during a meeting. Speaking on the occasion, BLLF General Secretary Syeda Ghulam Fatima Gilani strongly condemned what she described as attempts to portray the incident as a case of suicide.

Referring to statements from witnesses and members of the deceased’s family, she alleged that marks of torture were visible on the body and urged the CM to order the reopening of the grave and a fresh autopsy by an independent medical board to determine the actual cause of death.

She also criticised the arrest of protesters and family members who had raised their voice for what they called a fair investigation, and alleged that local police were pressuring the family of Murkas Maseeh.Syeda Ghulam Fatima Gilani also urged the authorities to provide immediate social protection to the victim’s family so they can pursue the case without fear or pressure.
