Minister lauds extensive security steps

LAHORE:Provincial Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee for Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the Punjab government has used all resources to maintain law and order. He lauded extensive security measures made by Punjab security agencies at the entry and exit points of all cities on Youm-e-Ali (RA).

Khawaja Salman said that on the instructions of CM Punjab, extraordinary security arrangements were ensured on Youm-e-Ali (RA). He said this while talking on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali (RA) on Wednesday.

Khawaja Salman Rafique and Provincial Minister and Co Chairman Bilal Yasin also visited the Central Control Room of the Home Department. Additional Secretary Internal Security briefed the situation across Punjab from the Central Control Room. SSP Intelligence Special Branch Ismail Kharak was also present on the occasion. Provincial ministers reviewed the live monitoring of processions and gatherings going on across the province from the Interior Department Control Room.

The Home Department monitored all 965 gatherings and 205 processions across Punjab from the Central Control Room. The Home Department has been linked to the Central Control Room and district control rooms across Punjab. Provincial ministers also contacted officers one by one in control rooms across Punjab and took reports.

Additional personnel were deployed at mosques, imambargahs, places of worship and shrines. Disaster management agencies Rescue 1122, Civil Defense and the Health Department were put on high alert.

Auqaf Dept observes Youm-e-Ali

Meanwhile, Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab Dr Ehsan Bhutta has said that the life and character of Hazrat Ali (RA) served as a shining beacon of knowledge, justice, courage, and piety for the Muslim Ummah.

He expressed these views while addressing officers in the Auqaf Department Conference Room on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali (RA) ceremony organised by the Department of Auqaf and Religious Affairs Punjab. DG Religious Affairs Auqaf Punjab Shahid Hassan Kalyani, Additional Secretary Auqaf Nabeela Javaid, and other officers were also present.

Dr. Ehsan Bhutta said that Hazrat Ali (RA) set remarkable examples of justice, wisdom, courage, and steadfastness in every aspect of his life. He further stated that the Department of Auqaf and Religious Affairs Punjab is actively working to promote religious and intellectual traditions and to disseminate the teachings of great Islamic personalities.

In this regard, various seminars, conferences, and scholarly sessions are organised so that the younger generation may become aware of the great figures of Islamic history and a positive and moderate mindset may be promoted in society. e meeting concluded with special prayers for the peace, prosperity, and stability of Pakistan.
