ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with his daughter, grandchild, daughter-in-law and son-in-law.

“This is an irreparable loss for the entire family and the friendly people of Iran,” he said in his condolence message and expressed deep solidarity with the people of Iran during this sombre moment.

Sadiq also condoled the martyrdom of the close aide of Ali Khamenei and the top civilian and military leadership of Iran, saying their sacrifices for their nation will always be remembered with respect and honour. Expressing concern over the prevailing situation in the Middle East, the NA speaker underscored the serious violation of international law and the erosion of the long-standing convention that heads of state or government must not be targeted. He warned that the ongoing conflict in the region could drive the world towards greater instability, heightened tensions, and the risk of a broader confrontation. He called upon the international community to play an effective and responsible role in promoting peace and ensuring stability in the region. The NA speaker stated that the parliament, the government and the people of Pakistan stand united with the people of Iran in this difficult and testing time.
