LAHORE: The Punjab Home Department has imposed Section 144 across the province in view of the law and order situation.

Under the order, gatherings of four or more persons have been banned. No procession, rally, sit-in or protest will be allowed at any public place without prior permission from the Deputy Commissioner.

The display of all types of weapons, whether licensed or unlicensed, has also been completely prohibited at public places.

Weddings, funeral prayers, and official matters have been exempted from the restrictions. The order has come into immediate effect and will remain enforced for seven days. The public has been urged to comply with the law and cooperate with the administration in maintaining peace and order.
