PESHAWAR: The residents of Hayatabad staged a protest on Sunday against construction of a gate at the township to give access to the people of nearby Khyber tribal district.

The residents raised slogans against Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Afridi and Peshawar Development Authority. The speakers said that the gate was being constructed for obliging only the people of the constituency of the chief minister.

They pointed out that a get was never allowed in the last several decades for ensuring peace in Hayatabad.

The residents said that the gate would connect Khyber district with Hayatabad and that would increase the crimes in the township.
