A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a speeding water tanker in the city on Monday. According to police, the accident occurred near Mai Gari on the Northern Bypass within the jurisdiction of the Manghopir Police Station. The victim died on the spot following the collision. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The deceased was identified as 29-year-old Bilal, son of Abdul Hameed Mughal. He was a resident of Altaf Nagar in Orangi Town and originally hailed from Lodhran, Punjab. The police said he worked at a scrap shop in the Sher Shah area.
Following the accident, the driver of the water tanker fled the scene along with the vehicle. The police said efforts were underway to trace and arrest the suspect.
