Two vehicles were badly damaged after a container placed near Sea Breeze on MA Jinnah Road fell on them on Thursday. No casualties were reported in the incident.
Police said that double containers had been placed on one side of the road to block roads as part of security arrangements for a rally scheduled to be held later in the day. Preedy SHO Ayub Mehran said that two buses operating on route No. 20 attempted to pass quickly through an open portion of the road. During the manoeuvrer, one of the buses collided with the stacked containers, causing the top container to slip and fall on two passing vehicles.
Both vehicles were severely damaged, but no one was injured. Police impounded both the buses. They are also reviewing CCTV camera footage to determine the negligence of the bus drivers.
