PESHAWAR: A transgender sports festival was held at the Qayyum Sports Complex here on Saturday, with enthusiastic participation from the community.

The organisers said the event was aimed at providing a dignified platform for transgender persons, promoting social inclusion, and showcasing their abilities through sports and recreational activities.

The participants from the community competed in a variety of events, including archery, tug-of-war, and other sports competitions. The organizers said the festival was not just about entertainment, but also about fostering strength, confidence, and self-expression among transgender individuals, ensuring they have equal opportunities to participate in society.

The festival was described as a positive step toward empowerment and inclusion, giving the transgender community a chance to demonstrate their talents and build self-confidence through sports.
