ALPURI: A delegation of journalists from Shangla on Wednesday called on the officials of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Department and apprised them of their issues.
Led by Aftab Hussain, the delegation informed the officials of issues faced by journalists in Shangla and other remote areas, including professional challenges and welfare-related concerns.
During the meeting, Director General Muhammad Imran assured the delegation that the Information Department was taking practical steps for the welfare and professional development of journalists across the province, particularly those working in remote areas.
He said that despite limited resources, the provincial government was working on various initiatives for journalists’ welfare, with special priority being given to remote districts so that media persons there could also benefit from equal facilities.
The delegation apprised the DG about the challenges, including financial difficulties, lack of training opportunities, inadequate safety measures, and absence of institutional support.
