LAHORE: Chairman, PMDFC and PD CM’s Development Programme, Saturday visit Shandong Haiyu Industry Group Co Ltd to review machinery shipment for HDPE-lined sewerage pipes on behalf of NSA Polymer (Pvt.) Ltd.

Immad Iftikhar Malik, Chairman Board of Directors, Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company (PMDFC), along with Asad Mahmood, Project Director, Chief Minister’s Development Programme (PDP), visited Shandong Haiyu Industry Group Co Ltd in China on behalf of NSA Polymer (Pvt) Ltd to review the machinery being procured and prepared for shipment for the production of HDPE-lined sewerage pipes under the Chief Minister’s Punjab Development Programme.

The visit was undertaken to inspect advanced machinery specifically designed for the manufacturing of concrete sewerage pipes with integrated 2 mm thick High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) lining, an innovative solution introduced by PMDFC to significantly enhance the durability and service life of sewerage infrastructure in Punjab.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed by the technical and management teams of Shandong Haiyu Industry Group on the specifications, production capacity, and operational efficiency of the machinery. Detailed discussions were held to ensure that the machinery meets project requirements and performance benchmarks.

Immad Iftikhar Malik emphasised that the adoption of HDPE-lined sewerage pipes represents a major shift towards long-lasting, corrosion-resistant, and low-maintenance sewerage systems, increasing the operational life of sewerage infrastructure from the conventional 25–30 year to up to 100 years. He noted that the timely procurement and deployment of state-of-the-art machinery is critical for ensuring consistent quality and large-scale implementation of this innovation across Punjab.
