ISLAMABAD: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has commenced a project for the distribution of winter kits in Pakistan.
A formal ceremony in connection with the project’s commencement was held at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Islamabad, attended by the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf.
Addressing the ceremony, he said that bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan are founded upon principles of fraternity, mutual affection, and unwavering trust. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been consistently providing support to Pakistan during periods of adversity, he added.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center is actively involved in global initiatives for human welfare, with Pakistan occupying a prominent position therein. Pursuant to this project, 22,000 winter kits are being allocated to eligible families throughout the nation, benefiting around 154,000 individuals.
The assistance package comprises two blankets, winter apparel for the entire family, sweaters, thermal socks, and headwear. Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said that the distribution process shall be finalised within the ensuing days via the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs), Rural Support Programmes, and local administrative bodies.
This endeavour is being executed through collaborative efforts between the federal and provincial governments of Pakistan and the humanitarian aid institution of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, namely the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.
This initiative serves as a manifestation of the altruistic compassion and solidarity extended by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman towards the populace of Pakistan. The minister appreciated Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Nawaf Saeed Al-Malki, for his
cooperation.
