QUETTA: The presence of a rare Persian leopard has been recorded in Hingol National Park located in Lasbela district of Balochistan.
Secretary Forest and Wildlife Department Balochistan Imran Gichki said that on April 6, 2026, the rare leopard was recorded through thermal imaging near the Sapat area. He said the Persian leopard is considered one of the region’s most elusive predators.
He described the sighting as significant evidence of wildlife presence in the area and said it further highlights the importance of protecting this rare species.
Gichki said the Forest and Wildlife Department has immediately deployed teams to ensure the animal’s protection and to take effective measures for its survival.
